Bosque Farms Government, Who is Representing You?

A blog about Bosque Farms, the politicians that have been elected to office to represent those of us who live here and how their actions might impact the Villagers.

Name: Bosque Gal
Location: Bosque Farms, New Mexico, United States

I'm a concerned resident who realizes the impact that the Bosque Farms local government has on our daily lives. I am working to share this information with others.

Fourth of July

What is the plan for fire works on the Fourth of July?

The ordinances on the books, the best this author can find, say that fireworks are legal.

Period.
http://bosquefarms.us/codes.htm

This author read the ordinances and can not find anything that says that if there is an official drought that the village can ban some fireworks. And state law says first: that not all fireworks can be banned, even if there is an official dry spell and second: that the communities need to have the option written into their laws in order to ban fireworks.

Looks like instead of worrying about some of the things they are fussing over, the village Councilors should worry about this ordinance. Once again, they let the deadline for fixing this ordinance slip past. And once again- they will rely on false signs that make it look like fireworks are illegal when they are not.

That is who we have representing us now.

I think the plan is.... no plan....as every year for the past 28 years, you shoot off whatever you want and then deny it when the police come down the street. Of course you must have the ground stuff out for the kids so they know the bad guys are down the block and you are innocently entertaining your children. Fireworks are like apple pie and hot dogs and the Star Spangled Banner......plus we have a highly trained and efficient fire department...let 'er rip!!!!!!!!!

Oh, for those who are satirically challenged, this IS tongue in cheek.

Happy and safe Fourth of July...although I do truly miss the old days....I'm a guy, large explosions and bright lights entertain me like nothing else.

Again this year our annual visit from the BFPD on the 4th.
For almost 30 years every shirt tail relative and hanger on from Denver to Austin has shown up at my house on July 3rd with loads of gigantic firewo
rks to blow off since I live "in the country"
The first decade I was partying right along and had great fireworks shows, some maybe rivaling Belen.
I soon became concerned about my neighborly duties, had children and needed to be a role model and the village became more concerned about safety.
This year, as patriarch and in possesion of a new grandaughter, mandated NOTHING illegal...a bit of pissing and moaning from now grown children, but we dutifully marched down to the Boy Scouts fireworks stand.where my eldest grandsons troop raises funds for their activities and were assured by the cute redhead, that all was legal in Bosque Farms. They even put the package together.
The legal show was great fun and even the 11 month old grand daughter thought it delightful.
For our efforts we were rewarded by not one, but two police visits.....seems we were shooting the firecrackers in too long of a string...fewer and farther between. So we began to light them one or two at a time and had a thoroughly enjoyable evening.
Here's to a very aware and on top of things PD. Next year, I'll be prepared for that unwritten rule.
